Born in Jacksonville, Florida, Mark has lived the majority of his life on Florida’s First Coast and now resides in Fernandina Beach. After graduating from a small private high school on Jacksonville’s westside, Mark moved to Arlington, Texas, where he acquired a Bachelor of Science degree as a Communications Major, with a minor in Biblical History.
His daughter, Daryl Combs, was also born in Jacksonville. After graduating from the University of Central Florida, Daryl moved to Manhattan, New York. She now resides in Los Angeles, California.
After spending over seven combined years working for major retail chains, Circuit City and CompUSA, Mark resigned his Sales Management position and accepted an opportunity with American Family Life Assurance of Columbus (AFLAC).
The new business venture required meeting as many business owners as possible. Having discovered that there was no functioning networking group in the immediate Amelia Island area; Mark started one with the help of a few recent B2B acquaintances. In April 2007, The Amelia Business Network was born.
ABN, as it has come to be known, meets monthly for a ninety minute luncheon that includes a formatted program designed to be part networking and part interactive business seminar. In February of 2011, a second group was formed. There are now over 80 combined active members between the two groups.
Mark continues his work with local businesses to bring much needed AFLAC program options to their staff. In an effort to provide the highest client service experience possible, Mark employs the assistance of highly trained agents to personally service the needs of each individual business.
He has also expanded his marketing, personal coaching, motivational speaking and writing availability; booking at least four events monthly. He is currently scheduling speaking engagements with groups of all sizes across the Southeastern United States.
Mark’s Driving Philosophy:
Embodied within each of us is more potential than we could possibly burn through in a lifetime. Unfortunately, a vast majority of our potential remains untapped due to restrictions of our own making. Restrictions, that we reinforce every day.
Not one of us was born with mediocrity as our calling in life. You are the only YOU the world has and we really need you to be the best YOU that you can be. After all, you were created to enjoy life. . . not just endure it!
